No Dig Alliance (NDA) has acquired ALTiVA AS (Altiva), a Norwegian specialist in underground pipe and manhole rehabilitation. The transaction marks a further step in NDA’s strategic expansion in Norway and strengthens its capabilities in manhole renovation services.
“Joining NDA marks an important milestone for Altiva. The Group’s expertise and strategic direction are highly complementary to our own, creating a strong platform for further growth and enabling us to play an even greater role in delivering efficient, resilient, and sustainable water infrastructure solutions.”, says Bengt Rebnord Olsen, MD at Altiva.
Based in Bergen, Altiva employs 25 professionals and is a recognised specialist in manhole rehabilitation and underground pipe services. Serving a wide range of public authorities, utilities, and private clients across Norway, the company plays a key role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and long-term resilience of the country’s critical water and sewage infrastructure.
“Altiva brings strong technical capabilities and local market knowledge, strengthening our position in Norway and deepening our relationships with customers. Together, we are well positioned to expand our offering while continuing to support more sustainable, low-impact solutions for water and waste water infrastructure across the Nordic region.”, adds Mattias Höglund, CEO at NDA.
The addition of Altiva further enhances NDA’s service offering and supports the continued transition towards lower-emission, trenchless rehabilitation solutions. Hereby, the NDA platform continues to consolidate a historically fragmented market, expanding its technological capabilities while delivering measurable positive environmental impact, particularly through reductions in water leakage, energy loss, and disruptive excavation.
Across Europe, the need to modernise ageing water infrastructure is becoming increasingly urgent as utilities face growing climate-related pressures. Even in the relatively efficient Nordic region, leakage still accounts for 18% to 30% of total water supply, highlighting both the scale of inefficiency and the opportunity for improvement.
Milena Torciano, Partner at Ambienta, commented: “The acquisition of Altiva represents a key step forward in NDA’s continued expansion. With its deep technical know-how and well-established position in the Norwegian market, Altiva strengthens the Group’s expertise in manhole rehabilitation and related services. The partnership also aligns with our sustainability-focused strategy, enhancing our capacity to provide low emission trenchless solutions. We are pleased to welcome Altiva’s skilled team and capabilities into the NDA platform.”
