No Dig Alliance (NDA) has acquired JS Drilling Solutions AB (JSD), a Swedish specialist in underground pipe installation through horizontal directional drilling. The transaction represents a further step in NDA’s strategic expansion in Sweden and strengthens the Group’s capabilities in delivering low-impact modern utilities infrastructure solutions. JSD will become part of NDA’s Riggtech business.
“Joining forces with NDA as a part of Riggtech marks an important milestone for JS Drilling Solutions. NDA’s expertise and strategic vision are fully aligned with our own ambitions, creating a strong foundation for continued growth and strengthening our ability to deliver low-impact trenchless solutions for modern utilities infrastructure.”, says Christian Leijon, MD at JS Drilling Solutions.

Located in Sundsvall, JSD is a trusted specialist in trenchless underground pipe installation using horizontal directional drilling. Working with public authorities and infrastructure contractors across Sweden, the company contributes to the development and maintenance of a broad range of essential underground utility networks including water, power, fiber optic cables, district heating, and telecom. The addition of JSD further enhances NDA’s service offering and supports the continued transition towards lower-emission, trenchless solutions.
“The acquisition of JSD brings deep technical expertise and strong regional market knowledge, further reinforcing our position in Sweden and strengthening our long-standing customer relationships. Together, we are well positioned to broaden our capabilities and accelerate the delivery of trenchless, low-impact modern utilities infrastructure solutions across the Nordic region.”, explains Mattias Höglund, CEO at NDA.

Across Europe, the need to modernise ageing utility infrastructure is becoming increasingly urgent as operators face growing climate-related pressures, rising demand for connectivity, and the transition toward smarter and more resilient networks. While water systems remain a critical challenge — with leakage in the Nordic region still accounting for 18% to 30% of total water supply — the broader infrastructure landscape also depends heavily on reliable underground networks for power, fiber optics, district heating, and telecom. With the addition of JS Drilling Solutions, Ambienta and NDA further strengthens a platform supporting these essential systems through trenchless technologies that extend infrastructure lifecycles, reduce emissions and operational disruption, and enable the efficient deployment of next-generation utility networks. This includes the installation of fiber optic infrastructure that underpins smart grids and real-time utility monitoring, helping operators improve efficiency, reliability, and long-term sustainability across multiple sectors.
Johan Lundqvist, MD at Riggtech, commented: “JS Drilling Solutions with its solid technical expertise and established regional presence is a well-matched addition to Riggtech. We are very happy to welcome the JS Drilling Solutions team, and look forward to joining forces as one team, building on our shared strengths, and driving continued growth and long-term success together.”
